When Will A Gas Certificate Of Conformity Be Necessary When Selling a Property?
Gas installations for which certificates of confomity are required would include :
- Built In Gas Fires
- Built In Gas Braai’s
- Gas stoves
- Hot water systems and the like
Furthermore in terms of Regulation 17(3) of the Pressure Equipment Regulations, any person disposing of a property on which such gas appliance is installed, must obtain a Certificate of Conformity.
GAS CYLINDERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE:
- 1 Meter from Window
- 1 Meter from Door
- 2 Meters from Drain
- 3 Meters from Aircon
- 1.5 Meters from an Electric Point
- 5 Meters away from a Distribution Board
GAS CYLINDERS – INSIDE A CUPBOARD:
- Gas hose not allowed to go through any partitioning
- No electric points inside the same cupboard as cylinder
- Ventilation in cupboard where gas cylinder is
GENERAL:
- Shut off valve for every appliance
- Pipe going through wall in a sleeve
- Pipe in floor needs to be in a sleeve
- Gas line in ceiling required to be trac pipe
- Maximum of 96kg of gas per property
- Maximum of 9kg of gas inside the house
